Youth Boxing Lessons for Kids & Teens

Discipline, fitness and confidence — taught by a coach with 30 years of experience. Private and small-group youth boxing in Oakland and across the Bay Area. Scholarships available.

Why parents choose boxing

Boxing gives kids structure. They learn to listen, to focus for a full round, and to respect themselves, their coach and their training partners. They get fit without it feeling like a chore — and the confidence carries into school and everywhere else.

How Coach Jamal coaches youth

  • Short, focused rounds that keep it engaging and safe.
  • Clear progress — simple goals each session build momentum.
  • Fun matters — the best program is the one your kid wants to come back to.
  • Form first — stance, balance and coordination before speed or power.

Is it safe?

Youth sessions focus on technique and fitness: footwork, shadowboxing, bag work and mitts. Sparring is never required. If a young athlete eventually wants to compete, contact work is introduced gradually, only when they're ready and with a parent's approval.
